InfraReach: supported devices
InfraReach includes solutions to manage most families of devices

InfraReach is a platform to securely manage remote infrastructural elements: PBXes, routers, servers, a complete enterprise network of PC’s in disparate geographic locations, UPSes and custom devices.

The functionality provided includes secure IN-BAND and OUT-OF-BAND remote secure resource connectivity, full remote devices power control, device monitoring, web based InfraReachServer configuration management, statistical functions,  and other functions dependent on the nature of the device.

PBX management solutions

PBXes are the backbone of telephone networks: InfraReach includes all the tools needed to simplify and speed up the management of these critical infrastructure components.

InfraReach supports most PBXes from all major manufacturers.

Access solutions

The majority of PBX's installed today is stll maintained via a serial port based management system. By connecting an InfraNode serial port to the PABX serial interface and by using InfraReach's technology for RS232 remoting over IP a secure and easy access of such a resurce can be achieved. The InfraClient, the security software part of the infraReach system installed on the technician operational PC,  can map,via an encrypted VPN, one or more physical serial ports of the remote PABX's on the local virtual serial ports on the technician operational PC. This way the technician can use the normal PBX's maintenance applications on any remote PBX just by running them on its local PC opening the virtual port created by the InfraClient that is IP Tube connected to the physical interface on the PABX.

Monitoring solutions

On most PBX brands and models, InfraReach's monitoring functionality collects all alarms generated by the PBX, forward them to the technician via e-main or SMS  in a complete secure-access fault management system, so that all faults can be handled in a timely way, reducing service interruption.

Other functionalities

InfraReach offers complete session recording: in other words it can store in a file all or selected management sessions. All data sent to and from the PABX by the technician is stored in an encrypted  file located on the InfraReachServer that can be used subsequently. This audit trail can be used by management for technical investigation and by other technicians for operational coordination. The autologin ia a feature that can give access to the PABX to technicians without revealing them the real password of th remote system. In other words its the InfraReach system that does the login on the remote unit and then give access to the technician. The forbidden commands functionality allows creating limited-access users, filtering out dangerous commands. For a more detailed explanation of these features see here.

Router management

Router operation is a mission-critical requirement in any network environment. The InfraReach platform includes all tools and technologies needed for effective router management providing IN-BAND and OUT-OF BAND independent access to the remote unit:

Secure Access

Using the InfraReach secure communication technology, the user accesses a router through an InfraNode linked via a secure pipe to the user PC: he can then communicate with the router from a proprietary management application, a telnet client or a standard terminal, with physical access provided by the network itself, by an out of band alternative modem or GSM/GPRS dial-up connection or a secondary LAN access linked to a physically separate interface, and this even when the router is located within a secure private LAN.

Monitoring solutions

With popular router brands and models, InfraReach performs monitoring of alarms generated by the router and provides complete fault management. Faults can be handled in a preemptive fashion before real dervice disruptive faults happen in order to reduce service interruption through InfraReach's secure remote access and reboot control.

Other functionalities

InfraReach offers complete session recording: in other words it can store in a file all or selected management sessions. All data sent to and from the router by the technician is stored in an encrypted  file located on the InfraReachServer that can be used subsequently. This audit trail can be used by management for technical investigation and by other technicians for operational coordination. The autologin ia a feature that can give access to the router to technicians without the necessity of knowing the real password of th remote system. In other words its the InfraReach system that does the login on the remote unit and then give access to the technician. PCs and servers management

InfraReach allows standard management tools to reach the PC through a secure IP tunnel. Adding the exclusive power control ( the capability of controling the power of the PC via a rely) to the management tool's specific functionalities, InfraReach makes accessing a remote computer virtually identical to accessing it locally.

Access and control

Any computer running a remote computer control software can be reached from a trusted PC via an InfraReach secure communication connection: this way, the maintenance operator has access to resources of the target PC depending on the tool he's using. Common tools like VNC, Microsoft's RDC, PC Anywhere, Remotely Anywhere operate in total security to make remote maintenance a real, and not virtual, possibility.Power control is also available so that a switched-off PC can be powered-up, accessed and controlled and then shut down and again switched-off, where a server can be remotely powered off if required in a critical situation and powered up when the problem has been solved.

Monitoring solutions

The monitoring functionality allows InfraReach users to monitor Infra PC-enabled computers for programmable alarm states such as disk space exhaustion, CPU overload, network overload and many others.

UPS management solutions

InfraReach's UPS power probing function allows the operator to monitor when any UPS switches over to battery power. This can be seen as a visual signal on the browser-based interface or forwarded to the technicians through an alarm system like e-mail or SMS.

In addition, InfraReach UPS management technology allows the user to schedule a clean shutdown of the devices powered via the UPS after a certain time they are running off batteries. Supported devices (e.g. PCs and servers) are better shut off voluntarily by the InfraReach system after a programmed time to avoid uncontrolled power-downs when the UPS's batteries are empty.

Monitoring solutions

Modern, advanced UPS systems with monitoring capability, can be remotely monitored by InfraReach through their maintenance port, similar to routers and PBX systems. The UPS system is handled as other managed devices in the InfraReach operational net.
