The InfraNode is the backbone of the management network. Serving as the main connectivity and communication entity, it makes all manageable devices always reachable through their normal connection path or, in case of network breakdown, through one of the multiple connection the InfraNode is capable of: LAN, analog modem, cable modem (ADSL/HDSL), GSM/GPRS.

Installed close to the to be controlled device, the InfraNode makes the following functions:

• It acts as the end point of the encryption pipe starting at the maintainer's computer
• It creates the physical data connection with the private LAN of the equipment to be maintained on a separate physical LAN interface or /and with the device serial ports (like the serial console and/or the alarm port)
• It controls the power of the serviced equipment.
• it conducts all the monitoring activities necessary to assert the status on the controlled device

Once connected to the management network, the technician can communicate with the managed device  using the InfraNode's multi-protocol capability. Depending on the version and the necessity, the InfraNode can act as an encrypting  serial remoting device, as a TCP/IP encrypting tuneling gateway, as a data acquisition device or as a programmable mains switch.

At the same time, relying on its hardware-coded private key, the InfraNode represents the cornerstone of the management network security, guaranteeing that access to the manageable device is available only to authorized users and applications and making it impossible for anyone to hack into the InfraReach controlled devices.

The InfraNode is script programmable via the InfraReachServer WEB interface. It can run any kind of script procedure to monitor functional states of the remote equipment, to generate alarms in various format from mail to SMS to perform autologin into special system or perform data acquisition tasks.

All units are equipped with a built-in UPS that guarantees up to 30 days of operation of some critical data acquisition activities in case of power failure or disconnection. Operational under most adverse environmental conditions.

The firmware of every InfraNode is fully remotely flashable to update the unit to new functions. You can upgrade your controller from the InfraReachServer web interface in a matter of few clicks. All this without the need to disconnect the controller or call technical support.
